We use cutting edge digital X-ray equipment, allowing your high-resolution images to be viewed almost instantly. These films allow ‘zooming in’ for closer examination of the smallest details. Additionally, these files may be placed on a CD and shared with your other providers.
Did you know that about 70% of Americans will have a medical or dental x-ray taken this year? They’re normally used to help your health care provider figure out what’s going on with you and how you should be treated. Sometimes, this information may be lifesaving.
Patients sometimes ask about radiation. The amount of radiation used in x-ray examinations is small, and the chance that x-rays will cause problems is very low. There is a small amount of risk with every x-ray. If the x-ray is needed to find out about a medical problem, then that small risk is certainly worth taking.
If you have questions – ask how the x-ray might help in your treatment. Feel free to talk with your provider; you have a right to understand why an x-ray is suggested.
