Eugene Urgent Care makes it easy to get your flu shot. Walk-ins welcome – no appointment needed. It does take a couple of weeks to develop immunity after getting the vaccine, so now is a good time to get the shot.
About 20% of the entire population will get sick with the flu virus . It is contagious – in the U.S., over 200,000 people are hospitalized each year from flu complications. The elderly and young children are at highest risk.
The viruses (both Influenza A and B) undergo changes in their outer surfaces, so it is a challenge to make vaccines that keep up with theses changes. Vaccination, however, is still the best way to prevent the flu from taking hold in your body.
Because there are different types of the flu virus, traditional vaccines are made to protect against multiple influenza viruses: two influenza “A” viruses (H1N1 & H3N2) and two influenza “B” viruses. Eugene Urgent Care carries the Quadrivalent Vaccine, designed to prevent all four types of Influenza.
It’s best to get vaccinated before the onset of the usual flu season. Influenza cases began increasing in the middle part of November, so the sooner you get immunized, the better.
In past years, Eugene Urgent Care has had enough vaccine to care for all our patients. Other health care facilities have not been as fortunate. Getting your flu shot at Eugene Urgent Care is fast and affordable. Protect yourself and your community. Come and get yours now.
Flu shots are available beginning in September throughout the “Flu season” at all locations. Flu shots can be obtained 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. No appointment necessary…just walk in!
The cash price of a flu shot is $31 for the quadrivalent vaccine and $40 for the preservative free vaccine. We accept cash, check or credit cards or we can bill any insurance provider including Medicare.
